We are happy to share with you that the initiated by Esseterre – Association “Distilled in Bulgaria” is already a fact. On June 16^th in Stara Zagora eleven leading essential oil producers in Bulgaria became founders of the Association with the intentions to create conditions for sustainable development of the essential oil industry in the country by assisting in solving common problems in the sector, creating and implementing new standards, promoting educational and research activities and raising the country’s image as a supplier of essential oils.

The association was founded by the companies BG Oils, Galen-N, Djambaz Group, Esetere Bulgaria, ET “Arko-Ivan Penev”, ET “Mitko Alexiev”, ET “Slavi-Mladen Demirov”, Lavena, Pavlovi Food Industries, Robertet Bulgaria, Stroykomers-TT and Esseterre Bulgaria is represented in the Board of Directors by Plamen Nikolov.

The total processing capacity of the distilleries is over 630 m3, and the processed essential-oil crops include rose, lavender, melissa, yarrow, clary sage, frankincense, myrrh and others. The association will welcome in its ranks all distillers of essential oils in the country who meet the conditions for membership and adopt its ethic code of conduct.

By taking actively part in this Association we look forward to preserve the traditional production of essential oils in Bulgaria and to raise it by creating standardized, pure and high-quality products.

An expected effect is to influence on the sustainable relationship between the farmers and the distilleries, guarantee the transparent and stable prices in the industry.
